1. Make
a donation. Donations, no matter what size, are always welcome. Many Quaker Meetings
support the work of Quaker House in their annual budget. We welcome this support, as well
as support from other groups. Quaker House operates on an annual budget of $50,000, and is
currently running at a small deficit. All donations to Quaker House are tax-deductible.
2. Sponsor an ad for the
GI Rights Hotline. Some Quaker Meetings and others have sponsored ads in papers
serving the military to help them know of our existence. We can provide you with ideas and
ad copy. Contact us.
3. Speak to high school
students. There is a real need to balance the information that students are receiving
from recruiters, much of which is often suggestive and misleading. Why not help youth get
access to the full picture? We can help you get started. Contact
us.
4. Train as a counselor.
We would like to train people interested in taking calls from military personnel. This
would be especially important if there is any future mobilization or war. Contact us.
5. Give human support.
We are always looking for people willing to be contacted by young service members who need
support at some crucial time and for whatever reason. If you would like to be such a
support person contact us to discuss it further.
