We do not charge for our services and depend entirely on donations, no matter what size. Many Quaker Meetings support the work of Quaker House in their annual budget. We welcome this support, as well as support from other groups & individuals. Our operating budget for fiscal year 2005-2006 is $85,000.
Sponsor an ad for the GI Rights Hotline.
Some Quaker Meetings and others have sponsored ads in papers serving the military to help them know of our existence. We can provide you with ideas and ad copy. Contact us.
Speak to students and their parents.
There is a real need to balance the information that students of all ages get from recruiters, much of which is often suggestive and misleading. Why not help youth get access to the full picture? Visit our Truth in Recruiting page to get started.
Organize a group for counselor training.
We would like to train people interested in taking calls from military personnel. As calls to the GI Rights Hotline continue to increase, more trained and committed counselors are needed.
Give human support.
Church groups have come to Quaker House for work-weekends. If your group is interested, contact us to set up a time. If you would like to intern with Quaker House, please send your resumé with a cover letter describing your interests to our postal address, "Attention: Internships." No eMails.
